A prayer that I wrote last winter, that I am praying this fall...

Holy Spirit, help me to slow down my doing,

To see you, hear you, feel you--

Holy Spirit, help me to see-

Your slow way of purpose and intent,

Your gentle way of dignity,

Your calm way of confidence.

Holy Spirit, help me to hear-

Your whisper of grace, that you're enough,

Your wind of action that invites me in,

Your echoes of peace, becoming louder as I go on.

Holy Spirit, help me to feel you,

Your breath that fills and empties me,

Your cover that protects and guides,

Your embrace of with, that unearths my dependence.

My clanging cymbals to be laid down.
